Stopped over in Costa Rica before heading back to the States, heck yes! Got to meet up with good friends and enjoy the warm weather that I definitely have missed.

Left the States in winter, arrived in B.A. and it turned into winter, returning to the States nearer to winter, too many winters.

I had an amazing time here and I met some awesome people and had fantastic adventures. I hope that I can return to Buenos Aires soon since there is still so much to see and do, and I hope that everyone I met here comes and visits me in the States!

so on to the tattoooooos!!!!
went over at 3:30, they showed me the designs we fixed one or 2 things, they redid the broken one and then they started tatttooing soon after, around 6:40 they finished both, including shading and just a tad of colour for the explosion (yeah there's and explosion!), then took an hour break, came back at 7:30, and one of the dudes cut a retarded circle into my hair (i saved the chunk) and then they proceeded to shave it, my skin felt so soft and squishy it was awesome!!!! made me want to shave the rest of my head, headgasm? i think i finally understand ryan

so yeah they began the little worm and it tickled so much!!! ran down my back it did, although the shading hurt a bit, but it looks so cute and cool :D i wonder if it'll scab over all hardcore cool
the worm took about 45 minutes including the haircut so all in all i was there from 3:30 till 8:30. and the total for all 3 pieces and 4+ hours of work: 300 pesos, yep. cheap. :D

so cordoba was really awesome, it's so different from the capital, i would totally go again

on monday went to a museum, malba, and saw some people presenting some poetry and this zine thing, ended up talking to the group of young folks who put it together, and i think we might work something out with project guacamole and their own mag, which would be tres cool! also met pablo and vicentes parents that evening for dinner, it was strange having someone ask me about my political stand. they were super nice, made an extra salad so that i wouldn't go hungry while they ate chicken, daing, i want meat.

let's see what else have i been up to... nothin much, school is out and i'm taking a silkscreen printing class on the side... still no comp, and apparently i don't have a roommate which is a slight problem this month, but i'll figure something out. good times

july 1st:
i've been sleeping like there's no tomorrow these past few days, the weather has been so strange that i caught a bug and my eyeballs hurt a bit

july 4th:
was watching that show with that english dude who gets dropped off in random places and has to survive or die... surviver man? anywho, he got dropped off down in the glaciers in the south of argentina and the patagonia and ate puma road kill, tres cool.

i was just at la falda, woot! it kinda sucked a bit ´cause there was nothing to do but we made friends with this one dog that we followed up some trails in the hills, i named him manolo and gave him crackers for lunch. we had this delicious 6 peso (2 buck) wine mmmmmmmm with those cheeses with mold all over the place, creamy and delicious
another oh oh: i ate a milanesa for lunch and my stomach feels good! :D

the cordoba beer (named cerveza cordoba... so original) is pretty tasty, has a slight vanilla aftertaste

we tried hitchhiking out of la falda earlier this evening but it didn't work out so we ended up taking a bus to cordoba and now we're chillin in this really cheap motel thing, it was cheaper than a hostel... and we're pretty broke, or more like we're traveling on an argentinian budget rather than a tourist budget
tomorrow we're gonna try to hit up as many things here in cordoba before leaving later (technically) today around 8pm to get to buenos aires around 6am

the ride to la falda took 12 hours, i wanted to die a little bit.... and i'm sick so that sucks as well, kept having to blow my nose and i drooled a bit on my arm when i fell asleep one of the times 'cause i had to breathe through my mouth... goot tides

yesterday was a strange day in 3 ways:

1. waiting for the bus to take me to the doc this kid just up and falls onto the ground hard, so hard that his legs behind him float up and he rocks onto his chest. all i heard was a thud and looked and that's how he was. then he ran away.

2. a few hours later, outside a mcdonalds this girl was crying as hard as she possibly could, and by girl i mean a chick of like 27

3. i round the corner of the mcd´s and behind me i hear a giant sound like a gunshot. i turn around and a bus has blown a tire right in the middle of the street with like 40 people inside of it. the bus driver wiggles to the end of the block and stops at the red light, gets off and inspects his tires. everyone inside the bus stay on and look like little scared monkeys holding on to bars...

then i finished walking home thinking of what else could go wrong that day, luckily nothing else did.

i wonder how many people NEVER leave their apartments in this city.

last nite we set up a random photoshoot at vicente and pablo's house. I initially went to give them the photos from thursday evening I took when they had this documentary at the university and had these 2 important guys speak in the panel.

sidenote:

one of the speakers talked about the newspaper and other companies and how they're monopolizing a lot of communication means and how what they put, or decide to exclude, in their newspapers/tv news/internet etc affect the way that the people are seeing the govt. vs. campo thing going on right now and i know i knew this but i didn't know to what extent some of the newspapers here were skewing so many facts in their favour (the owners of those conglomerates are also huge land owners who would prosper from the campo beating the taxes, but i still don't know if i'm pro gov't or campo... too many pieces still missing or are unclear in my head.)

so i took them the photos and then i lent the camera over to vicente who is studying film, then we started playing around with green and red lightbulbs and long exposures and then vicente's girlfriend, whose name i couldn't remember so i kept calling her "you", came down to just pick up some notes but we made her hold lights and model for us as well ha, good times

on friday i went out with some cats i met at marie and maria's going away party, they're all sons and daughters of navy people and lived in the states and other random countries. anywho on friday we all went to see one of their friends band at a club, they started off with coldplay (i later found out that they only did covers, but they still played very well) then followed it up with radiohead, porno for pyros, soda stereo, and finished off with another coldplay song... i thought that it was the one they had started with but apparently it was a different track. sometimes i can't really tell them apart.

the other part of the club was a dance club and all they were playing was argentinian cumbia and for some strange reason it was mainly guys dancing, and they were all dancing in groups, it was very estrange, and no one was really going up to girls or vice versa and i wondered for a second if it were a gay club i was actually in, but i guess it wasn't. the band went on at 2, followed by some metal band and then we all danced (i TRIED but kinda failed, plus the DJ kept like changing tracks in the middle of the songs and the rhythms were totally off, kept making me stumble all funny... i would say on purpose but others would say otherwise) until around 4 when i took a bus back home 'cause i was tired and that place was all super far

last nite was such a girly nite, for realz. we watched back to the future and then started watching 2 days in paris (maria hadn't seen it) and i got a tray and packed it with crackers and cream cheese and tea and coffee and milk and tangerines and cookies and at the last minute before we started watching the movie we ran downstairs to the ice cream shop and bought some ice cream right before they closed, it was really cool hahaha
i don't think i've ever done such a thing and it's so stereotypical too, i only thought those eating in bed watching movies with your girlfriends was only in the movies. estrange, ha
then we watched some horror movie about this chick who's preggers and these little alien children thing are after her and i don't think there was any dialogue until the very end when some lady guy said what was she doing in here? end.

talking to jasmin for hours this morning made me want to backpack so much! it makes me want to leave this apartment and just GO! but i'll have plenty of time to do that after august/september :] we also talked about how similar we are to our parents sometimes without realizing it and all them good things. we also talked about all of those opportunities that we felt we'd missed but didn't mind 'cause there was/is always another option to be had, and no matter where or how you seem to get to a place you end up having some interesting if not awesome experiences. i feel like a motivational speaker so i'll stop there.

after foodage we're gonna go to the botanical gardens and the japanese one as well perhaps and then wander back to the apartment and tonite i think we're gonna go stenciling, woot! oh oh she also brought her fisheye (same as mine but blue) so i expect some estrange and wonderful photos to come of these next few days :D

Ok so chinatown day. Jenny and Nico came by my apartment and picked me up a la walking, and we took the subte, about 12 stops to Chinatown. We walked a few blocks from the subte stop where this dude selling cheese and salame on the street gave me a free slice of salame, i passed it on to jenny who later passed it on to nico. Apparently it was really good, oh and the seller dude said something about buying a big piece of salame 'cause the ladies like it big. Yeah ha-ha.
So now chinatown!

We got there at about 2:45 and the 1st thing they tell us is that we have 15 minutes before the kitchen closes and we have to order quick, i ordered the noodles and vegetables, jenny ordered some meatballs filled with chicken, and nico ordered some meat soup with tofu chunks, oh and i had this delicious drink that was made out of pepino (cucumber for me, perhaps something else here) but it tasted kinda like sugar cane with a strange after taste. I dug it, but nico hated it so i drank his as well. Looking at the photos thing it took me about 15 minutes to eat all them noodles. I think actually a bit less 'cause i waited a second or two before taking the "after" photo. I wanted some more, but i was stuffed... oooo and they gave us this spicy sauce kinda like the reg garlic pepper rooster sauce in the states and i was like ooo yeah gimme gimme!
After the food stuff we went to a supermarket where i stared at the candy aisle for a while and couldn't believe the fish section, totally forgotten what it was like in them stores.

There arent really many photos of the supermarket 'cause some manager dude told me i wasn't allowed to take photos there, almost wanted to say, well you guys always take photos tooooo. but i just said ok. Oh and they sold boba outside mmm boba balls.
We walked around some more, i ended up buying a leechy drink, a lollypop, and some of those soft rice balls filled with sweet red bean paste that ryan used to always get, i made jenny and nico try em on the subway people looked at us estrange. anywho, goin back to c-town: Then we walked around with all of our food bag stuff and i bought a giant thing of soymilk for a buck, like 2lts, haven't tasted it yet, maybe it's all gross, who knows, and then it was time for us to catch the subway back 'cause i had class.

Oh on the subway 2 guys came on, one with a guitar and the other with an accordion and they played some tango, which was cool, then they got off and some 11 year old girl came on and did these amazing juggling tricks and never dropped the balls like a whole 2 stops, so rad. The best was when she started using the ceiling of the subway to get them to go faster and it sounded like taktaktkatkatkaktak! all loud and fast and awesome yeah. then my stop came, i grabbed my stuff for class, was a bit late, and that was chinatown :]

after class i headed over to jennys where i ate most of this bread she bought at a healthstore, marble cake with sweet peanuts that we didn't know if they were orange slice chunks or almonds, the strangest thing ever and then skateboarded back and did nothing sigh sigh

tonite maria and her friend marie are thinking of going to an indian restaurant, i think imma join 'em, i need some more spices in my belly.

my friday:
yesterday started off pretty well, ate a peanut butter and honey sandwich for breakfast, then jenny and i went to see paranoid park and you wouldn't believe the amount of people waiting in line to see it. the line started at the cinema which was near the corner of a block, it wrapped around the block and then again around the block, it was literally 2.3 blocks long and i got there kinda early, skateboarded there listening to descendents. felt punk rawk ahahha
and then inside the theatre the place was huuuuuge! and you know that part where the little brother is quoting napoleon dynamite and says his lips are chapped and wants some chapstick? well they translated it as him wanting chopsticks (palitos chinos)
i wish i'd taken my camera but i fell the other day while skateboarding and the camera suffered minor damages, just cosmetic but still, :S

after the film jenny and i took the subway to the big shopping mall near where she lives to see if there were any more control tickets left but alas it was completely sold out :/ they only show the films in specific theatres on a specific day at a specific hour shux... so then we got some sandwiches and ate at the steps which is where i found that russian girl. then from there we headed to this dorm looking place where a whole bunch of international kids are housed and met this dude named lalo who went to san diego state and we drooled over the memories of pokez grumble grumble...
and a small world getting smaller, i met this costa rican girl whose best friend is the cousin of andres. weeeeird.
from there i skateboarded about 14 blocks to my class and got out around 8pm and skateboarded over to valeria and mauro's place.
the new york dolls played here on thursday and friday and sattva that vegetarian restaurant catered the event and so valeria got to go meet them and hang out and that was rad :D
from their place we headed over to sattva around 1am and i met again the boom boom kid, and i was like oooo but inside, quiet on the outside.
the plan ended up being that we would all go to sympathy for the party, that club where they play punk and rock and awesomeness. the bbk had his vespa outside as did german (sattva owner) so bbk, mauro and i got on bbk's vespa and german valeria and her friend got on german's. on the way to the club, which was about 5 blocks away bbk's vespa ran out of gas and we had to literally cruise and slightly push the vespa to a gas station. good times.
when we made it to the club we got in for free, bbk was there for about a minute and left and then everyonen else started leaving so we danced a bit and left as well, the sets weren't very good that nite anyways

Saturday went to see an aire libre film outside of the mall (you can see the Abasto sign) (i scraped my nose the other day)
the film was about this huge battle that argentina, uruguay, and brazil fought against paraguay, and all of the bloodshed and why it happened and these huge paintings that i saw at a museum weeks ago and it was pretty neat :D

My weekend was pretty mellow, skateboarded a bajillion blocks on saturday saw a french film that i forgot the title to with Pablo and then on sunday i was in pijamas all day doing homework, writing a letter, watching tv.... saw an italian film from 2001, part of ice age, meet joe black, and i don't know what else.
oh i also put an add up on craigslist 'cause i don't know if jenny's gonna move in here or not and imma need a new roommate beginning in may and that same day i received 4 calls, 6 emails, and 1 text asking about the apartment. I thought it was gonna take a lot longer haha. Most of the people who called about the apt were americans (of course, since i put the add up on craigslist). Two of them are coming to see the place today and one is coming tomorrow. I hope Jenny decides to live here 'cause I don't really feel like living with a stranger :/

on thursday i went to watch a film about Salvador Allende one of Chile's former presidents with Pablo and Vicente. From the film he seemed pretty cool. The american government kept trying to kill him and Fidel Castro's 1st and only visit to another country once he was all Cuba core was to Chile to visit Allende. So yeah, i had some chocolate cake while watching the movie and some mate woot!

Then it got all cloudy and I decided to get back before it started pouring on me.

On the walk to the subway I ran into a pharmacy, but for a split second i thought it said "earmacia"

I got out of the subway a few blocks away from the hostel but it wasn't raining or anything so i decided to chill here and look at people as they walked by. It was pretty nice. I also stuck my tongue out at a few people who stared at me for too long. ;P

i was supposed to open this once it hit midnite, but i couldn't wait! sorry leo! it's awesome though :]

What else did i do... hung out with nacho and pipo and got a really good piece of apple pie. I ordered myself an apple pie with ice cream; it was seriously the most delicious apple pie i've ever had. there was none of that gooey filler crap and just a hint of cinnamon, it was just delicious sweet appleness mmmmm.

and then went to a show with german and mauro [shellac with steve albini]

The lead singer had his guitar strap around his waist. The show was mmm ok i gueeeess. The first few songs were kinda strange, had to get used to the sound a bit, it just kinda sounded like old people making music, nothing new nothing interesting, nothing refreshing, nothing fast. Here and there there were a few good songs or bits and pieces but overall I was slightly bored.

And that was my birthday. Oh also at the show I ran into the lead singer of El Otro Yo, this argentinian band that I used to love and the lead singer is shorter than me. I was quite surprised and laughed a bit, yeah ehehehe aaaaaaand that was about it yep :]

my head started throbing like mad earlier today so i ended up trying to sleep off a headache that i still have... like 7 hours later. and no one seems to have aspirin or ibuprofen... sucks butt. it's 3:30am right now and i'm the only one awake. i'm hungry and painy i just kinda want to punch myself on the side of the head right now. the screen kinda hurts my eyeballs. i want it to be 7am already so that i can go raid a pharmacy.

a day with someone elses' parents

So i went to have dinner with Mauro and our friend Arny's parents on Thursday, and they gave me a bag of chocolates and a bracelet, the chocolates were eaten soon after so i have no actual photos of them, bummer, but they were deliiiicious!

We went to meet them near the apartment where they were staying at and we all went to Sattva for dinner. Over dinner they asked me to go to Tigre with them, a small town next to the river about 45 minute train ride north of Buenos Aires. And I agreed to meet them the next day around 10am at their place. But after dinner I ended up going to another girl's place 'cause she was having a shindig of sorts and I didn't go to sleep until like 5-6am, so the next day I was dead [and very hungover].

So yeah, met up with them and walked to train station to get our tickets to Tigre, it was less than a buck per person. Ridiculous. Nearly missing the train we slightly power walked slash ran to the train. There were no seats left and a lot of people, including us, stood the whole way. But it wasn't too bad.

We finally arrived in Tigre and checked out the river. It was brown and kinda dirty with lots of trash floating on top of it. And the place was packed with people having picnics on the river edges and waiting in line to catch one of those taxi boat things to go to either Uruguay or to some river coast house
While we waited for our boat tour we had a small picnic next to the river and observed others as they juggled or caught their toddlers right before they fell into the river. I shoulda sung the Gilligan's Island theme song. Totally forgot. Damn.

Finally on the boat we left the tiny little port and headed out to sea. Or more like a really wide river with big waves. Apparently Tigre has an amusement park. Saw a couple of rollercoasters and other rides. Looked fun.

So you're driving down the river and you see gas stations, stores, houses etc all on the river edge. It felt like Disneyland, it really did. I expected some fake crocs to spew a bit of water at us.

The boat had 2 levels, the bottom one was covered with giant windows and tables and you could have lunch or dinner there, it was a restaurant of sorts, and the top deck was just open, except for a shade thingy on top and the captain was up there too

well the boat pretty much looked like this, but with a cover on the top to protect our foreign pasty skins from the sun.

These are the boat taxis that people were waiting in line around the corner and block to get on to, they would take you to the houses and hotels and things along the river edge.

We left Tigre pretty early because it was too packed and decided to have dinner back in the capital. On the way back we didn't get seats either, but it was ok, i got to watch a bit of tv, except every 10 minutes they would loop the exact same thing. Rawr.

Back at the trainstation we took a taxi to Florida street, the pedestrian one with a bajillion restaurants and shops and saw some musicians and things looking for a restaurant to eat in. They finally decided on an italian one on a side street. After dinner we walked out of the restaurant and it started raining all hardcore so we said our good-byes and went on our way. I took a taxi back to the hostel and on the way I saw this bus full of hooligans ahaha. There was a cop car following them the whole way to who knows where so that they wouldn't cause any havoc.

And that was my day with someone else's parents. On the boat ride I wanted to die a bit becase I was slightly [very] hung over and my eyeballs hurt and the sun and rocking didn't really help me.
I got back to the hostel and knocked out and had horrible sleep, and the next day kinda sucked as well, but then it all got better :]

ok so at the bob dylan show i found someones ID thing, everyone here carries these little booklet documents with all of their information, and on the walk back to jenny's place i also found a whole bunch of negatives i think i'm gonna get them developed and make something out of it. :]

the next day i went to check out an apartment in palermo, it was pretty cool, quiet street, 4th floor [5th for us] with a nice big balcony, big bedroom, etc. but they wanted a guarantee thing or else they gave me the option of paying the whole year up front. yeah, next!
on the walk back towards the subway station i passed a building with the animal planet sign and bush's face next to it. graffitied on the wall was something that read like "this is not U.S." next time i'll go in. definitely.

and also passed by this random column and thought it was pretty neat, i wanted to add something to it but i didn't have a marker on me. ugh!

i always forget how tall building are here. you see green little trees and small buildings and you forget to look up.

then i hung out with pablo, who lives pretty close to the place i had been looking at and we went to the botanical garden, since i hadn't been there yet. the place is overrun by cats they're everywhere and they don't care how they sleep, much like the people haha.

it was still pretty early so we decided to hit up the japanese garden that was like 3-5 blocks away. i became ninjalda and for a while i was invincible!

also saw some of those giant fish things they would leap out of the water and their little beady eyes stared at me while their wet rubbery mouths gulped air and spewed water. grah... i wanted to get one of those papers to see what it would tell me about my future, but they'd ran out :/

then left palermo, headed back to the hostel and ran into a sign that read something something "joder" something or other and it made me wonder why in the states we don't put up signs with words like fuck and shit.

later that nite i went with mauro [arny's friend] to see the orphanage. i stopped by his place to meet his sister who is also stuying the same thing i am through the UBA and she's awesome, i wanna put her in my pocket and take her to san diego with me :D her ex-boyfriend did these giant stencils [they're as tall as me!] [ok i'm not giant, but stencil wise they're pretty big] on the door and wall of their apartment, nicely detailed and junk. oh man, so yeah we were all gonna go to the movie and then this massive storm rolled in with lightning and thunder and i thought ooo perfect! but then she decided not to come after all. i have to go back to that movie theatre, it was crazy! the place was shaped like the inside of a ship, it curved down like a regular theatre thing but then where it should have stopped it curved back up, so the people in the very front were higher up than the people in the middle,... i dunno it was weeeeeeeeird :S

crashed a few days at jenny's place, the people she lives with are pretty cool :] i accompanied her to her uni where she had to meet up with some people or other, and i went to change uni's.

walked around most of the day, just listening to music and things and finally got to the street 9 de julio and saw/heard what was on the stage that had been built a few days before. there were people eeeeeeeeeeverywhere!! too bad it was cumbias that were
playing. gross ha

the subway stop there was closed so i had to walk to the next one down the line, about 4 blocks down. on the way there i found a restaurant that sold frogs...

got to the subway stop and was surprised i'd never seen this muraled wall there. i thought someone had doodled it, but apparenlty it was actually commissioned for the subway thing and there's one of the trains [you can see the mural on the right a
bit]

inside the 1st cabin thingy there was a dude playing the sax but he was just looping this one bit ooooover and ooooover, he wasn't that good but he made his neck vein pop out hardcore. gave him that much ;P

so yes, then went back to jenny's and met up with her and her friends. they decided to go to some park and then to a boliche [club] and i went to meet up with some people at that veggie rest. sattva [1 year anniversary]
met 2 chilean kids, pepe and ally and the boom boom kid! [carlitos]
bbk is this singer dude from over here who's all awesome and junk
very cool cat, he's so tiny too! he's like my height, sooo strange. i only said hello to me, i was all shy core ahahaha

and last but not least!!!!! there was this ooooo delicious chocolate cake with frutilla [strawberries] but like thick delicious hard chocolate outside and the inside was cool and soft and sweet but refreshing, very good balance in flavours and textures

we went to that sympathy for the party club. they played smiths, zeppelin, stones, pixies, etc in one of the dance areas, the other one was more electronica, and i heard some cypress hill up in there as well haha
the club was strange, you went in and walked 2 floors down to the main floors... after 3am the cover charge was 20 pesos for guys 15 for girls, but before 3 it's 10 for everyone, it was pretty packed. we ended up leaving around 6am, and i took a taxi back to jenny's place.

at the entrance to jenny's house there were 3 people drunk off their asses eating some noodles and talking. they didn't notice me standing in front of them for a good 3-4 minutes at all, until jenny opened the door, it was hilarious haha

was picked up today by jenny and her friend nico to go buy the bob dylan tickets

on the way to the record store we passed by some very strange things including this one:

jenny made my ticket by birthday present, woo! i was all like whaaaaaaaaaat?!?! awesomeness

after the tickets were bought, we ate at some place where the waitress sucked butt and then decided to catch a movie [juno] in this tiny little movie theatre we kinda had to look UP in a weird way and the AC was on so high i was shivering for most of the movie.

walking back to the hostel we came upon this stage being built in the middle of the street in front of the obelisk. so random.

and finally stopped at this place underground where they sold a lot of glasses of all kind i dug the colours and the lettering, hot stuff

apparently buenos aires women are snobby and brazilian girls are sluts wowzah ahha

not my words, words of the guys talking next to me as i type.

today is christina's birthday.

finally washed clothes, hell yeah! they're all the size they're supposed to be and don't have that dry sweat warm smell that is actually ok, except when you have to be around people ahaha

also went to the store coto, its like ralphs or perhaps vons... it's everywhere, to get some foodz and saw some salvia on the shelves, thought of ryan and leo ehehe then there were a few protests outside the window, good times

then i walked over to meet a friend of a friend who turned out to be really cool, mauro. hung out with him and went to see some other friends and their band practice and then afterwards we went to the veggie restaurant and the restaurant owner [german] gave us a ride back to our respective places. when i finally thought about taking a photo on the vespa i was already back at the hostel so i was kinda bummed, but then he said that we could go on a quick ride around the city since it was late and there were few cars around, i said wohoo!

pipo and i walked from the hostel to village recoleta and saw death at a funeral, i just remember i was super hyper that day and had been laughing all the walk there [about 45 minutes] so when we saw the movie everyone was laughing their heads off but i was all laughed out, at least in the physical sense. i laughed inside. yep. ahaha

so yes,

in front of the movie theatre there was a puppeteer and some clowns

entertaining lots of people

i had myself some pizzaaaaaaa all oooey gooooey with cheesy deliciousness!

after the movie we walked back to the hostel and i found out that apparently blockbuster sells smokes. hmm...

the next day [monday] i was up at 9ish and skateboarded to the bank

and back and just bummed it a bit.

Went to puerto madero [which is where i had that bad allergic reaction last

time]with denis and found some neat things

1st off, puerto madero is like little U.S. it's really weird i dunno,

really out of place with everything else in the city...

anywho, we found some good places to skateboard and then we went to

the main area near the river coast thing called la costanera sur and

saw some cakes mmmmmmmmmmmm

and a small woman's march thing with a

lesbian band, they were damn proud too and lots of drumming and all

those good things, yey for international woman's day, i say demand

your man day!

so yeah then we decided to check out the nature reserve, little did we

know that we would end up walking 2 km's in the dirt while carrying

our backpacks and skateboards... sigh... but it was a nice walk

afterwards we hit up some sidewalks and skateboarded and i tried to do some

tricks but failed, good times, and then it started raining so we went

into a mall to wait for the rain to stop and for some foodage. after eating i really really really wanted to skateboard on the smoooooth cleeeean mall floors... so i grabbed my skateboard and got on it for a good meter or 2. quite esmooth ohlala

in the end we asked the information lady guy if she could give us some plastic bags for our skateboards and she sent us over to a furniture store where the store lady guy was nice enough to give us a huge bag. it was hard carrying both at the same time, but we did it and we saw a pretty cool sunset.

later denis and i went to a friend of his's birthday shindig

then jenny called and we went to a bar with the infamous

red door [her message to me, bar in san telmo, one with red door.] ha!

it was pretty small, it had a pool table on one side and then 2 other

sitting areas behind the wall thing.

around 5 am is when we finally left and took advantage of the lack of

people on the street and took jumping shots, of course :]

and that was my woman's day woo!

went skateboarding the other day with a few kids from the hostel and then jenny, the french girl, and i went to eat mexican food. i had the chiles rellenos, but these were all tiny and for some reason like insanely spicy... or maybe my tastebuds are dying and i can't take spicy anymore....noooooooooooo!!!!!]

the next day coco took me to the mexicana airlines thing to get my ticket refunded and the moneis back... it should be more like mexicana buttline. :/

i had to go to the bank and it started raining on me. estupid. then it stopped... after i got semi soaked... and i was wearing a white shirt... sigh sigh
while i was in line i was listening to some op ivy... i literaly danced a .4 second jig in line, it was a peppy song, don't remember which one though ahahah

went with the dudette whose name is Jess [short for jessica] to get some mexican food, but got there too late, so we went to this other place and got drinks and delicious pizza. she had a blue margarita, i had a caipirinha, but we were both pretty tired, so we headed back kinda early, and then all that stuff with the other peeps went down so i didn't even get a chance to rest well, bumz.

anywho, the next day pipo, andy, gecky [i don't really know how to spell his name, it's in norwegian], and i went to recoleta [where the famous cemetary is at, as well as the movie theatre. the norwegians went to the dead people and pipo and i went to get tickets for there will be blood. while there pipo and i ate lunch. i was all surprised by the restaurants in the place. pipo had this chicken steak thing at this place, and i got myself a focaccia mozzarella tomato sammich mmm and apparently they all sell alcohol and of course wine. after we ate we met up with the andy and geggi and walked over to the giant flower thing. on the way we saw some jazzy bluesy band and a strangely positioned sign, and played on the teeter-totters, and saw cotton candy being made.

we crossed over a bridge and came upon the law school with its giant columns and decided to do the whole rocky balboa thing and sang random parts of eye of the tiger as we ran up. then crossed over to the park and walked around the flower and saw a photo shoot with this girl thrusting her hips all up into the air and junk, pretty funny stuff. no photos of that though, haha then it started raining and we took shelter under a tree and once it stopped raining we just chilled making time before the movie started. ohoh the flower started closing up as we were leaving, it was neat and we found Tuna [photo]. yes his name is Tuna. and finally the movie neat neat
but yeah, gimme the blooooooooooooood! :D

and that was yesterday and the day before i like finding Tunas and scary clouds behind churches. tuna made my day, i wanted to keep him but they didn't let me. bumz.

on the 29th we ended up taking over 350 photos, but i've now cut them down to a few. mark [english kid] pipo [ny/arg kid] and i took the subway to the zoo hung around there, fed the animals, went looking for sangria, couldn't find any so bought some wine and 7-up and mixed it up in the park, and then headed over to watch the velvet underground movie, and then home [but dinner 1st woo!]

we got the idea from lou reed's song titled "perfect day" and tried to do everything the song said. the zoo was pretty fun, there were random animals walking around free

it's 6:30 am and for some reason i'm not esleepy

woke up ther other day to the sound of pouring rain
went out to the main area and saw the norwegian kids doing their spanish homework, then went to see another warhol movie. this one was called vynil, and it was
roughly based on a clockwork orange. what i found really hilarious was
not so much the awful acting, which was indeed pretty funny, but that
it was shown in english with ITALIAN subtitles. shrug shrug
afterwards pipo and i went to a coffee shop next to the movie theatre where i had a submarine woo! they brought me this hot cup of frothy milk and a small bar of bittersweet chocolate that i then submerged into the milk, making a kind of hot chocolate. delicious. and for some reason they also gave us tiny shots of orange juice and a small thing of ice cold water. dunno. any ideas?

the 2 english kids staying in our room, plus 2 israeli girls just got back and they're all drunk, and they made me download a song from the full monty so that they could strip. fortunately the song took too long to download and they only got their shirts off. it's far too weird when there are those 1 day couples in the room. they also gave me the title of the nicest person they [english chaps] have met in a month. what the butt? ahahaha

now they're making me replay it and they're doing the 4 step [?] and they took a photo of me. i am completely sober. this is hilarious. ahahahahah

so yesterday we went to see some andy warhol silent movies

kiss- it was just close up shots of people kissing, one of them was
freaking scary, this dude was all up on this girls chin, like EATING
the whole thing, and then he stuck HIS chin all up in her mouth. i
think he had some problems
the most interesting one was the gay dudes kissing
blowjob- this thing lasted like 20 minutes, and it kept fading in and
out and the dude was just i dunno, and then he came, and then he
smoked a cig
empire- the photo is attached. it's a night shot of the empire state
building and it lasted ONE WHOLE HOUR. nothing else happened. just
that image. the original was 8 freaking hours long. but still daing.
that's when i went outside of the movie thing [10th floor] and checked
out the commotion outside through the window, a giant protest i don't
know about what.
then went back and saw the last short film
mario banana- eating a banana :D

afterwards we went to eat at this pizza place, where there was a
special. for 10 pesos you ate all the pizza you could eat. they would
bring you 2 slices of each type of pizza and you had to finish them
before they brought out 2 more. i got through the mozzarella one, the
napolitana, the pepperoni [i gave the meat to pipo, an argentinian
who's lived in ny all of his life, but is studying cinema over here],
and finished off with the heart of palm one, i got such a food coma, i
fell asleep at 11pm fully clothed. woke up at 7am and went back to
sleep.

i ended up going to puerto madero yesterday, they have this ecological reserve that i wanted to check out, but never really got there... and it's so strange on that side of the city, it's all uppety and nice and of course has the expensive apartments and hotels, i didn't really dig it, too american for my trip, but the parks i saw were pretty nice. coco, one of the hostel owners took me there after helping me out with my phone thing and showing me some cool photo shop.

so coco, who looks kinda hippieysh, and i walked down avenida de mayo toward the casa rosada, aka the prez's house, and plaza where they do a whole bunch of demonstrations and things and then crossed one of the dykes to get to puerto madero. they have this white bridge called el puente de la mujer finally in puerto madero it was really strange... it was all uber modern, i felt as if i were in japan or something, i dunno, i just wasn't expecting those buildings.
after walking for a bit we took a break and sat down at one of the american style parks, aka no shade and just grass everywhere, saw some kids skateboarding... and that's where i was bitten on the back of my left arm, near the shoulder, and on my right foot, next to my shoe, on top. walked farther into puerto madero toward the ecological reserve and saw some food stands and i thought they were taco stands! but they weren't :( they were choripan stands... chorizo y pan, here the "chorizo" is actually sausage...

i got bitten around 6:30, and this photo was taken at 7:11, you can see the red bumpy rash hives? thing spreading down my veins, it was gnarly, and the inside of my arms were horrible looking, were the skin is all soft and thin, ewwwwwww NOT sexy time. i pulled up my leggings to see behind my knees and they looked like this as well, and my head was all itchy and my back started getting really itchy as well. i
thought i had started to freak myself out so i tried to calm down, but i knew it was time to go to the doc when i felt my throat start to close up a bit. it was not kosher. but puerto madero to the hostel, walking, was gonna take like 30-40 minutes, so we crossed the bridge, and took the subway.

once we got to the hostel we went to a pharmacy to see if they could give me any allergy pills, but they told us that i needed a prescription, so we went back to the hostel, i took a shower to cool down my skin, my whole body was all hot and that's when i noticed how bad it was, my whole back, butt, thighs, stomach, chest, arms where
all covered in red and things ewwwwwwww ack! thinking about it makes me itchy. so yeah, took a shower, took a taxi to the nearest hospital,and it was scaaaaary looking, fantastique! lights were fliquering, random people everywhere, it was like a horror movie setting, i would totally film there. the wait was over an hour so we went to another hospital another taxi ride over and we were there. it was so fast, they took my name down and sent me to a room right then and there. room #2. my redness was slowly going away by then [9pm], but it was still there the doc saw my arm and side and said, yep typical case of allergic reaction. told the nurse to give me a shot on my butt for the itching and told me not to eat strawberries amongst other things and gave me a prescription for allergy pills.
i didn't have to pay aaaaanything to get seen, or the shot they gave me in the butt. it was strange... and then coco told me it was 'cause it was a public hospital, hence the scary looking outside and inside and i went ooooo across the street i bought the generic version of claritine for 2 bucks, and then since i was staaaaaaarving we went to eat some foods mmmm napolitana with peppers instead of olives, oh so goood! [10pm] 11 pesos= 2.90

tonite we were gonna go watch there will be blood, but we walked to the movie theatre, which took about 40 minutes, so we got there too late. instead we got tickets for eastern promise. they sold us the tickets not so much for the movie, but the seats! it was strange.... row 7 seats 12-13-14 ok? suuure! and we saw some capoeira outside of the theatre woo! there was this little 4-5 year old kid playing as well and he was doing all these awesome flips it was rad!

week 2.2

yesterday i walked around the city a bit and decided to call my parents up from a payphone, good times. then i called up one of the kids i know from here, denis, and we had an impromptu picnic and talked about politics in both of our governments and things that they don't teach in school about the gov't. good times.

dudes. i thought 1 suitcase was too much, the san francisco chick brought 3, and all overweight. daing.
i was walking down ave. corrientes and saw the dios salve a la reina [god save the queen] tribute to queen, i totally wanna go, dunno how much it is though hmmm... ave. corrientes has a bajillion theatres, bookstores, cinemas, etc. over here instead of having the yellow or white lines to cross the street, there are a whole bunch of white lines all up in a bunch

walking down callao i saw the balloon! i called him tito. i think he was trying to commit suicide
after saying goodbye to tito i said hello to denis, who took me people watching

all the emo/goth kids are in da hooze!
i found THE street. the street where they have cool shops, skate shops, cheap shops, head shops, etc,etc, etc, also a mexican food restaurant :D
we then walked over to the big huge cemetery and saw these well dressed peeps getting out of the subway next to the dead people. estrange.
and had our semi ghetto picnic: baguette, broccoli pate, processed cheese, and these pastries they have here filled with dulce de leche, delicious! and juice that took us forever to get open
then it got dark and we walked over to denis' house 'cause he had to walk his dog, named after zsa zsa gabor, this little chihuahua. while he got her ready i checked out some of his books, and he had a whole bunch from this comic book writer that i really dig: Liniers http://sp5.fotologs.net/photo/53/44/0/liniers_macanudo/1144165884_f.jpg

and well then i saw this little sketch in one of the books and i thought it was hilarious! especially looking at the little drawings one by one
the only thing one of them says is: "No hands!" ahahahaha

then we walked over to the bus stop, i caught my bus and when i got to the hostel i totally knocked out, i woke up still fully dressed with my shoes on. i looked at a map today of how much i walked and i went kinda like ooooo

the spaniard in charge today has changed the music from muse to some spanish stuff lalalala

and that was yesterday, with tito, zsazsa and denis ;P

week 2

so yesterday my hunt for peanut butter failed as well as my hunt for corn tortillas and cilantro
buuut i heard of a place that might sell them, i feel like an addict
searching for his drug
i know a dude who knows a dude who made a deal with this dude for
preeeemium corn tortillas dude. for serious. imma roll a fat one of
those tortillas up and inhale it so hard i choke. hahahah daing.
moving on.

went to a grocery store near the hostel, it has these itty bitty carts, like
for little kids, but they're for real real, haha. then totó, one of the dudes who works at the hostel, took me to the giant supermarket to find the foods. he reminds me a bit of mr. bean... when we were walking out of the subwayin he almost licked the lady in front of us, it was hilarious, but she moved right before i was able to take a good photo. his dad's side of the family is full irish and he lived in canada a few years, that's totó.
On our way back we passed by this little store called the 25 Hours, the 7/11 of ba, they're open twentyFIVE hours daing right? right.

and now imma for realz go to the movies
and try to find those peruvians that i heard sell corn tortillas oooo

day 3

day 3 i hung out with another friend: pablo

day started off well, walked around some blocks listening to some music, went to the park in front of the congress building, took some photos there....
then went to meet pablo around 6 at the hostel. we went to san telmo, this old district and i found this soap from 75, so rascist ahahah, and it contains formaldehyde, delicious!
because of carnaval and everything there was this like drum samba dance party on the street and it was raaaaaad, gave me goosebumps :D
we also saw some tango dancers, and went back to pablo's apt. to get some mate things
then headed over to the park in front of his apt. building and he prepared it. by prepared i mean he took the crushed dried up mate leaves [in container] and filled up the little mate cup to the top, then he poured hot [not boiling though] water from the thermos into it, but just a couple of sips worth, then you just sip it, and pass it on. it was refilled about 15 times or something crazy like that
i kinda liked it!

then it was time for me to head back to the hostel
mate tastes warm, i mean it IS warm, but it TASTES warm, a bit like dirt and powder and tea, sans sugar
hmmm a lot of things taste like dirt around here huh....

we went to the roxy to see a punk band called dos minutos
and the place was PACKED. crazyness. and about 1/3 of the kids there were wearing ramones t-shirts, apparently they're everyone's favourite band ha
when the show ended the police had blocked off the street 'cause kids were pouring and pouring out and taking over the area, but no harm was done to anything
we then walked a couple of blocks over to this place where there are a bajillion bars and i had some argentinian aperitiv liquor thing, tasted like dirt and licorice, kinda gross eww but ok in the end ha!
so then i got back to the hostel took a shower and knocked out. yeeep

so i'm here at the hostel now, it was a 9+ hr flight, and it's actually a 6 hour difference from ca, so right now it's almost 1am and over there it's barely getting dark. what the butt. ha
it's hoooot and humid and i want to be in my underroos but i can't
the dude main dude dude at the hostel said he would help me with my apartment look see tomorrow

i've been awake far too long right now. the airplane ride was semi-fun though, got to sit next to this lady guy from buenos aires who was hard core jewish and had the good kosher food, and watched that rock movie where he plays a footballer bah and one with natalie portman and dustin hoffman, my food sucked. they gave me like a giant watermelon and called it breakfast, bumz

i´m hungry

it´s 2 hours ahead of california, so right now it´s 9:26, a tad late to visit some museums i wanted to check out, oh well
you know what´s really cool? the subway thing is only like 20 cents woo!

already met some argentinians and a french girl
i was kinda expecting to get mugged once i got off the plane but that didn´t happen, i don´'t know if to be disappointed or not hmmm....
anywho, airplane food does not keep you full forever so imma go hunt me some foods down.

i'll see you guys, and once i get to buenos aires and find a place to live and junk i'll make sure to give it to you guys
